How it all started

In 1996 a small group of individuals formed the Grand Isle Fishing Rodeo to establish a three-day fishing tournament during Memorial Day weekend to be held at Bridge Side Marina. The group decided to have couples as Charter members to run and execute the fishing rodeo. At that time, it was the only rodeo in Grand Isle with an equal number of men and women as directors. Our first rodeo had a total of 92 participants and it has grown tremendously from there.
